What's it Worth?

Do you need to know the value of your property or assets?

If so, an independent and certified appraisal might be what you need.

Following is a list of frequently asked questions by others seeking appraisal services.

Where do you provide appraisal services? At your home or place of business anywhere in the state of Missouri or Kansas, or at our facility. In some cases, when a complete appraisal report is not needed, we can provide a valuation by reviewing photographs and information about the property or assets.

What type of property or assets do you appraise? It is important to hire an appraiser who has experience in the specific type of property you need to have appraised. Our certified appraisers are experienced conducting appraisals for business equipment and machinery, antiques, collectibles, firearms, furniture, comic books, ephemera, pottery, silver, automobiles, classic cars, boats and watercraft, artwork, coins, estate property, business assets, entire collections and more.

Why should I have my property or assets appraised? There are many reasons to know the value of your assets or property. In some cases an appraisal is done to satisfy an equitable distribution for an estate, divorce, business dissolution or business acquisition. Also, some appraisals are done for collectors, trust officers, insurance purposes and charitable donations. Sometimes an appraisal is not necessary, and in that case, we will advise accordingly.

Who do you provide appraisal services for? We provide personal property appraisal services for individuals, collectors, estate executors, trustees, lenders, certified public accountants, insurance companies, business owners and attorneys.

What is included with my appraisal report? A complete and certified appraisal will include an examination of the property, assessment of condition, complete inventory, photography, market research and valuation of the property as well as production of a written final appraisal report compliant with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP.)

What is USPAP? The Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) is the generally recognized ethical and performance standards for the appraisal profession in the United States.

Do you provide appraisal services for a single item? Yes, we can help you with a single item or entire estate, entire business or collection.

What do you charge me to have my items or assets appraised? Our fees for appraisal services are very reasonable and are charged by the hour or by the project, depending on the project and your specific needs. We are happy to speak with you regarding the items you are wanting to have appraised prior to you making any commitment. We understand that appraisals are often needed during stressful times. At Mayo Auction we will assist with compassion and understanding.
