What is an AARE Auctioneer?

An Accredited Auctioneer of Real Estate (AARE) is the National Auctioneers Associations (NAA) premier real estate designation program.

Auction marketing professionals who hold the AARE designation have completed extensive training on how to sell real estate by auction as well as provide a thorough real estate selling service with additional opportunities for all types of real estate sellers and properties.

AARE differentiates auction professionals from real estate agents. AARE professionals provide a fast-selling service keeping your holding- and real estate-related costs down. AARE professionals have significant experience selling real estate by auction having completed at least 10 auctions or a combined total of $3 million in real estate auction sales.

What Does The Accredited Auctioneer of Real Estate Designation Mean?

AARE is NAA’s premier Real Estate designation. The auction real estate designation class takes attendees through conducting a real estate auction from prospecting to closing after the auction (and explores opportunities if a property doesn’t sell). Along the way, the class explores finance, marketing, proposals, sales, legal aspects of real estate, and working with traditional brokers and banks, among other topics.

What Are AARE Designation Requirements?

To obtain the designation, real estate auctioneers must do the following:

  • Submit proof of ten auctions/closings or sales totaling $3 million

  • Submit one auction summary report

  • Be licensed as a real estate agent in their state, even if their state does not require licensure.

  • Be a current member of the National Auctioneers Association (NAA)

  • All requirements must be completed within three years of taking the AARE course

  • To maintain the Accredited Auctioneer of Real Estate designation, AARE real estate auctioneers are required to complete 24 hours of continuing education every three years.

How Can an AARE Auctioneer help someone who needs to sell real estate?

You know you are working with someone who has not only a commitment to continuing education, but extensive experience at selling real estate at auctions.

The AARE designation sets graduates apart as a select group of auctioneers. AARE helps students discover new ways to market real estate to different and distinct audiences. The continuing education ensures that the AARE auctioneer stays on top of new trends in real estate, and how to market various types of real estate effectively.
