Today we
realized a dream that we have had for more than
a year. We attended the closing for the sale of
our home. The solution to selling ended up
being so easy and so fast that we can’t believe
we didn’t try it earlier. We spent over a year
trying to sell our home through the traditional
route of using a realtor and then as a “for sale
by owner”. Robert Mayo did what no one else
could do for us in approximately one month.
We
became frustrated with the traditional approach
to selling as we spent countless hours making
the house look perfect for “no show”
appointments or for lookers who weren’t serious
about finding a home. It’s no easy task to
clean up a 3200 square foot home with 15 minutes
warning when you have two small children at
home.
We
interviewed several auction companies and then
chose Mayo Auction & Realty based on Robert
Mayo’s targeted approach to marketing our
property. We felt that the other companies used
the same marketing approach for every property.
Robert really put great thought into how to best
communicate with potential buyers and how to
find those buyers. The results came through on
auction day when we received a non-contingent
sales contract (another benefit of using the
auction approach).

Please allow me to
introduce myself. My name is Dave Kingore and I
am the former General Manager of Play Central
Station in Overland Park, Kansas. This letter is
in reference to our experiences with Robert
Mayo, the Auctioneer that handled our
Liquidation Auction.
To give you some
background, Play Central Station went out of
business and we needed to liquidate the assets
of the business. I obtained a quote from a
company to buyout the entire inventory, which
came in at $36,000. After further review, we
felt our equipment should take more than that.
We decided to pursue having an auction, as we
felt we should be able to get between $75,000
and $100,000 for our equipment.
I interviewed
approximately 6 auctioneers, and after reviewing
their proposals selected Robert Mayo and his
company. We felt that the marketing they were
prepared to do would make the difference in
getting the qualified buyers we needed to get a
better price. We were pleasantly surprised.
When it was all said and
done, the total gross for our auction came in at
$152,000, well above our best hopes! Needless to
say, we were thrilled with the results.
I simply cannot express
how happy we were with the entire process.
Robert Mayo and his staff showed themselves to
be professional, reliable and courteous
throughout the process. Robert was always just a
phone call away whenever I needed to ask a
question, and always showed he and his staff
where ready to go the extra mile to make our
event a success. Again, I cannot recommend them
highly enough.
We feel like we solidified
a relationship and didn’t just have an auction.

I am
writing to comment on the exceptional range of
services that you have provided our non-profit
organization. For the past two years, our group
has valued your input from pre-function
consultation to the wrap up advice that goes a
long way toward improving the next year’s
event. Most importantly, our results from the
auction process itself have certainly proven to
us that this is an investment worth making.
The
recommendations that you offered before the
event resulted in additional ways to raise money
during the gala and brought in an additional
$3500. The Champagne Sparkle and the Heads or
Tails game also made the evening more fun for
our guests. Our live auction items were placed
in your recommended order and subsequently
maintained a momentum that, again, resulted in
more dollars for the organization. I had
several guests comment that your team was very
personable during the live auction. I heard
from guests that a personal thank you was
extended by your ring men after the final sale
of each auction item. Finally, the
troubleshooting and ideas that you shared the
week after the event will change, and improve,
the way we go about certain activities for next
year’s fundraiser.

provided. Hearing positive comments, no
complaints, from our guests makes us feel that
you and your team function as an extension of
our group. We feel it is very important for
